Some time ago the side lighting on the “Dalek” pool fountains ceased working. The electrical fault could not be determined without breaking concrete and with unknown cable routing it was going to be a large, expensive job. It was determined that temporary solar lighting would be installed until the Daleks needed an overhaul; reinstating the old lighting will be explored at that point in time. After a little bit of trial and error it was decided that illuminating the flowerpots on top of the Daleks was a simple, inexpensive and elegant solution. The existing ceramic light covers have been removed and will be stored for future works should it be possible to reinstate to old lighting during the future overhaul.
