Luke Cittadini from his last visit to the pottery:
The first photo is the signing of the new invoice that was created in line with correct Thabali procedures. This is attach with the origin from the manufacturer.
The other photos are self explanatory. 60 garden lights (as you see in their raw form) have been made. This is the usual procedure as they do not know how many will fail due to the kilns heating process. The lamps are approximately 20% to 30% bigger than the requirement and after firing shrink to the required size. Many will fail due to the heating process with cracks or breakages. Please appreciate that the kiln is wood fired.
This is of no cost to Thabali. We have already paid what is required.
From their they are sent for glazing (approximately 45 kilometers away) then brought back in the kiln.
After this, transportation.
So where are we now. The manufacturer has stated (as of today 08/12/19) that 20 will be ready for transportation in the next 2 weeks. That is all going well she hopes to finish the rest soon after and before the end of the year.
